Curiosity # 3
This curiosity will be towards to my Project 3. I commute between Madison and Milwaukee every weekend. What are the similarities and differences in those two cities?
Plausible Causes:
1)I often heard comments, opinions, etc about both cities, like how they like Madison better, or Milwaukee better. I want to see the comparison that each city have its own unique that attracts certain people. I know many people commute everyday between those two cities to go to work, go home, visit families, etc.
2)I grew up mainly in Madison. I only go to Milwaukee for school. I thought about it for a while, about how sometimes I feel like being in Milwaukee when I was in Madison. Or vice versa. Two locations is very different but they have a lot of personality to it that made me feel like they are connected some how. I would like to try and see if I can find some of their "personality connections."

Curiosity # 2
I am really interested in both 16mm film and B&W photos. I am curious if there is any way I could put 16 mm films into photos? I mean like, is there a way I could pick a frame to make a still on a 35 mm photo film?

1) I often wanted to use my film as photos, or photos into film. I always wondered how can I transfer from one film stock to another film stock, and still able to keep the quality nice and clear.
2)I have thought about contact prints but the problem with that it would turn the pictures into negatives, or into positives. I am curious about how it will look from 35 mm film onto 16 mm film since 16 mm is smaller than 35. Also, 35 mm is too big to fit onto 16 mm.
This would be a great experiment for me to play with when I have time.

Curiosity # 1
Since I am a deaf person myself, I am not aware of my culture. I am really curious about how Deaf Culture works. How do they able to become such a strong community on their own?

This have been a curiosity of mine own for years. It is not that pretty clear how they are strong on their own. It is obvious I wanted to know more about them in order to learn more about myself. That's one reason(1). Other reason, I noticed a lot of differences between Deaf people, or other people with disabilities, and "normal" people such as hearing people(2). I am really curious about why normal people treated others differently. I have experienced so MANY discrimination from them just because I am not "normal" like them. But if they "get rid" of people who are not "normal," there probably will be no one left. We all have many, many different reasons why we are that way, not other way. For me, I was born this way.
Making a video of them will take up so much time and information gathering. This kind of curiosity would be good for senior or junior projects, not right now.

Recalled place, Person or Situation
I walked around Riverwest area, mainly on Clarke St. I remember a couple of times I walked down on Clarke st, there were many strange scents. I remembered how I felt really weird and disgusted because I smelt something like urine, sewer. I thought that it was really strange that I smelt that in the specific area. I walked further down and smelled beer. It was just a block further down and I smelt really strong odor of beer. I thought, what kind of neighborhood is this? Why are there so many weird smells that I never thought I would smell outside. The beer odor was really strong, made me think, "did someone spilled a keg of beer or something?" It was really bizarre how I recongize those scents at one neighborhood. I normally don't experience those scents in like 15 minute walk.
